My name is Chris Wilhite and I am co-manager of Dick Pond Schaumburg. I have worked run speacialty for 13 years and also have been in charge of our shoemobiles that service the schools and races in the area as well as helping open our Park Ridge location. I have competed in many distances over the years from 5k to half marathon. I welcome you to come into the store and see how our staff can help you improve your running with proper footwear and our wide variety of apparel and accessories. My name is Nick Hurley and I am co-manager of Dick Pond Schaumburg, joining the staff from our Carol Stream location. I am excited to be a part of the running community in Schaumburg! I have worked for Dick Pond for 8 years, working in several different capacities. SATURDAY MORNING "BREAKFAST RUN CLUB WILL RUN YEAR ROUND!
"THE BREAKFAST CLUB" runs every Saturday Morning at 8:30 A.M. from the Schaumburg Store.
We have a 30 minute and a 60 minute option. You may walk or run at any pace. On the first Saturday of the month we meet at Busse Woods instead of the store.
Free coffee after the run!
Earn a "BREAKFAST CLUB MUG" BY ACCUMULATING MINUTES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR!
Your breakfast club mug will be displayed in the store; Your milestones will be indicated on your mug!
500 minutes, 1000 minutes, 1500 minutes, 2000 minutes (Gold Level)
All minutes will need to be earned at our Saturday Morning Run.
We encourage all ages, and paces to join us! Yes, walkers are welcome!

Join our FREE Walk2Run program where you will train, over 10 weeks, to run for 30 continuous minutes. You will start off walking more, running less, and each week you will increase your running and decrease your walking until by the end of the 10 weeks your goal is to run for 30 min. and sign up for an optional 5k to celebrate your achievement!This program is for beginners and any age is welcome, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no pressure for distance or time, you go at your own pace, in this encouraging but laid back atmosphere.
Walk2Run Sessions for 2014 are as follows:
- Session 3 - Begins Wednesday, August 6th at 6:30pm
Back by popular demand; a Walk'n Talk Option.
- Meets same time and place as Walk2Run
- Group goal is a brisk 3 mile walk
- Optional 3k alternate available (1.8 miles)
- Great option for those just getting started with their exercise routine
- Motivating tips and strategies along the way
Walk 2 Run 2.0
New this session! Ready to take the next step? Walk2Run 2.0 is just for you. We will meet earlier at 6 PM and begin building up to 60 minutes of running. This is a great way to build on your fitness if you have already completed a Walk2Run session and are looking for a new challenge.

At 8:45 sharp, we will start our 5K run on a USATF-certified course over mostly flat roads . There is also a family fun walk for adults and children alike at 9 a.m. All four events support our goal of collecting 1,000 children's books for every classroom in District 54. Visit Race Page

Itasca's Oktoberfast 5K

The course is a fast, scenic neighborhood route through Itasca, with a downhill finish into Usher Park, featuring:
- USATF certified course # IL11072JW
- Awards for top 3 men and women finishers and in age group categories
- Post race party - including raffle, awards ceremony, beer and brats!
- (Beer will be distributed to runners 21 years of age and older only. Please bring ID!)
Early packet pick-up at Dick Pond Athletics in Schaumburg for participants registered by September 30th.

The Fight Against Breast Cancer (F.A.B.) 5K is a neighborhood Run/Walk dedicated to fundraising for local and national charities with a focus on support for Breast Cancer research and families currently undergoing breast cancer treatment.

Schaumburg Half Marathon and 5K Turkey Trot

Celebrate the end of the season at one of Chicagoland's largest half marathon & 5k events. The event offers a relatively flat, scenic, USATF certified paved course. There is also a 5k Run/Walk for those who want to participate in something a bit shorter. The course is conveniently located just off the Rt 53 and I-90 Interchange.
