My name is Glen Kamps. I have been with Dick Pond Athletics since August 9, 1985 and have served the company in many capacities. I hold a Masters Degree in Physical Education - Exercise Physiology and I currently manage the St. Charles store. I have been running since 1967, competing at the high school, collegiate, and post collegiate levels. I welcome runners of every level to my store to be analyzed and fit in clothing, shoes, and accessories so that they can improve their lives through running. In-Store Events



Walk2Run Dates for 2014

Join our FREE Walk2Run program where you will train, over 10 weeks, to run for 30 continuous minutes. You will start off walking more, running less, and each week you will increase your running and decrease your walking until by the end of the 10 weeks your goal is to run for 30 min. and sign up for an optional 5k to celebrate your achievement!This program is for beginners and any age is welcome, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no pressure for distance or time, you go at your own pace, in this encouraging but laid back atmosphere. We leave the store promptly at 6:15 to begin our session at 6:30. The first night of each session we meet at 6pm so that extra time is allowed for filling out the necessary waiver and so that your questions can be answered. Plan on allowing approximately one hour each Monday night. That allows us to walk to Mt. St. Mary's Park, do the 30 min walk/run, stretch and walk back to the store.

Remembering Boston 2013 Monday, April 21st
Employee Tammy Hartje, who ran in the 2013 Boston Marathon and who was 100 meters from the finish when the second bomb went off, will be here on April 21st @ 7pm to speak on her experience. Hear what happened from someone who was there. She will also be showing a book: "If Not For The Perfect Stranger," an account of the day from the eyes of many runners who were helped by the citizens of Boston.



Saucony Will Be Here! Tuesday April 22nd
We will have raffles for some fun prizes and one lucky winner will win a pair of Saucony shoes! Try the Mirage, Hurricane, Guide or Triumph! (If we are lucky maybe even the new Kinvara 5!) Try the shoes, win a prize, and get a good run in!



CWX Night with Ultrarunner Jeff Drost Tuesday, May 13th
Jeff Drost will be here for our Tuesday night Fun Run. Jeff is an ultra runner and has worked with and worn CWX product. He will be here to share why CWX works for him and how it can benefit you and your running. Please join us on Tuesday May 16th at 6:00 PM before our Fun Run to learn more about CWX.

Great Western Half Marathon

Sunday, May 4th 2014 8:00 AM

This is the 17th annual Great Western and the eighth year at a half marathon distance. The race previously was a 30K, but was changed in 2005 to its current distance. The race is hosted by the Fox River Trail Runners, and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Special Olympics, Illinois and FRTR's Youth Scholarship Fund.

Location on the Mooseheart Campus in Mooseheart, IL. The 5k course and Youth Mile course finish on MOOSEHEARTS' TURF FOOTBALL FIELD... in the END ZONE. Disposable chip timing, technical running tee, live music, face painting and balloon animals!

Just For The Health Of It 5K

Thursday, June 12, 2014 7PM

Geneva, IL Get off the couch, tie up your shoes, gather your family and come out to the Government Center to take part in a exhilarating run. This run is for anyone that wants to feel great and keep active. After an energizing run, return to the Kane County Government Center for a thrilling after party. The party will feature a delicious healthy dinner from Sergio’s Cantina and a dessert finish from the Sugar Path. Prizes for top finishers, each runner receives a t-shirt. Chip timing provided by Franklin Finish.

LeRoy Oaks Forest Preserve, St. Charles, IL
Runners and walkers limber up! Get set and ready to go on this 4-mile run held on the shaded Great Western Trail in the beautiful LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve in St. Charles or the scenic 2-mile walk which meanders through this forest preserve as well. All proceeds benefit Lazarus House!

Our Tuesday night Fun Run resumes on Tuesday March 11th!

Join us for our Fun Run every Tuesday starting at 6:30 pm at the St. Charles store. We run every Tuesday until the time change in November. Rain, snow or shine. The only time we do not run is if it is lightening or thundering out for safety reasons. Come out and join us for a FUN RUN! The FUN RUN is for individuals who can run 4-6+ miles.
