Manager Profile

My name is Chris Wilhite and I am co-manager of Dick Pond Hoffman Estates. I have worked run speacialty for 13 years and also have been in charge of our shoemobiles that service the schools and races in the area as well as helping open our Park Ridge location. I have competed in many distances over the years from 5k to half marathon. I welcome you to come into the store and see how our staff can help you improve your running with proper footwear and our wide variety of apparel and accessories. My name is Nick Hurley and I am co-manager of Dick Pond Hoffman Estates, joining the staff from our Carol Stream location. I am excited to be a part of the running community in Hoffman Estates! I have worked for Dick Pond for 8 years, working in several different capacities. As an avid runner and triathlete, I have competed in a variety of events including the marathon and Half-Ironman triathlon. Stop by the store and say hello anytime. Barrington Orthopedics at Walk2Run Wednesday, April 15th, 6:30pm
Listen to representatives from Barrington Orthopedics and have your injury questions answered after Week 4 of Walk2Run. The talk will be given at the conclusion of the session.

Polar Demo at Walk 2 Run/Breakfast Club Saturday, April 18th, 8:30am
Interested in heart rate training or using a GPS watch? Get the chance to take a watch out on run during our Walk2Run and Breakfast Club runs. Our local rep will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about Polar units. Please arrive early as watches will be limited.

Garmin Demo at Walk2Run Wednesday, April 22nd, 6:30pm
Test out Garmin demo units and see if a GPS watch might be for you! Don't miss this great opportunity to join us for a walk/run and try a new watch. Please arrive early as watches will be limited.

Muscle Activation Therapy at Walk2Run Saturday, April 25th - 8:30am
Join Charlie Cates from Muscle Activation Therapy as he will demonstrate a new therapy to help you get to peak performance. The talk will begin after our Walk2Run session.

Fremd Track and Field Feeder Clinic Sunday, April 26th 11AM - 1PM
This clinic is open to boys and girls between 5th and 8th grades. Get the opportunity to meet and work with Fremd coaches and athletes during the clinic. There is a $10 fee per athlete. Email Coach Aikens with questions or to RSVP (with name and age). Note: This event will take place at Fremd High School.

Dick Pond Hoffman Estates welcomes runners of all paces to it's weekly Fun Run.
We run every Monday @ 6:15 P.M.
Most runners run 4-8 miles

Please note that starting Wednesday March 11th we are starting speed workouts at Harper College track, just east of the store on Algonquin Rd.


"THE BREAKFAST CLUB" runs every Saturday Morning at 8:30 A.M. from the Hoffman Store.
We have a 30 minute and a 60 minute option. You may walk or run at any pace.

Free coffee after the run!

Walk to Run Information

Join our FREE Walk2Run program where you will train, over 9 weeks, to run for 30 continuous minutes. You will start off walking more, running less, and each week you will increase your running and decrease your walking until by the end of the 9 weeks your goal is to run for 30 min. and sign up for an optional 5k to celebrate your achievement!This program is for beginners and any age is welcome, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no pressure for distance or time, you go at your own pace, in this encouraging but laid back atmosphere.

Keep those gains you made all spring and summer by staying with us through the fall. Walk2Run will continue to meet at 6:30 PM every Wednesday night to provide a group atmosphere to keep your training going. Whether you are walking or running, join this great group!

Only want to walk? Join us at the same time and still enjoy the group atmosphere!

Walk 2 Run 2.0

New this session! Ready to take the next step? Walk2Run 2.0 is just for you. We will meet earlier at 6 PM and begin building up to 60 minutes of running. This is a great way to build on your fitness if you have already completed a Walk2Run session and are looking for a new challenge.

Chicagoland Spring Marathon and Half Marathon

Sunday, May 17th, 9:05am - Schaumburg and Busse Woods
The 26.2 mile marathon and 13.1 mile half marathon courses are USATF certified. The marathon is a Boston qualifier. The course will start in the business district of Schaumburg before touring into scenic Busse Woods featuring serene lakes, forests and prairie. Miles will be marked along the course to help you keep pace with your goal time! Aide stations with water and sports drink as well as toilets will be located along the course, see course map for locations. Possible spectator locations are also shown on maps. Get Your Rear In Gear 5k

Saturday, August 1st - 8:00am - Elgin
Get Your Rear in Gear - Elgin is part of a 5K race series raising awareness and money for colon cancer prevention efforts. 75% of the money raised in Elgin will stay within our community, helping with prevention, early detection and treatment, and healthy living projects for this disease. Schaumburg Turkey Trot Half Marathon and 5K

Saturday, November 28th, 8:30 AM 5k/9:15 AM Half Marathon
Celebrate the end of the season at one of Chicagoland's largest half marathon & 5k events. The event offers a relatively flat, scenic, USATF certified paved course.
