Manager Profile


My name is Debbie Crawford, the store manager of Dick Pond Athletics in Carol Stream, IL. I have been a dedicated runner for about 15 years, completing 9 Marathons along the way along with numerous Half Marathons, 10K, 8K and 5K distance races. I have been with Dick Pond Athletics for over 9 years and have dealt with many aspects of the company. I enjoy working retail the most and getting to know the customers. I enjoy getting to learn about their running and wrestling experiences and help them to achieve their goals. I have been the leader of our Walk 2 Run program in the past and am also Co-leader of a Saturday morning run progam that we offer that runs year round. Dick Pond Pub Run Thursday, July 31st
Join us for a short 3 mile run. Calendo's in Winfield and Brooks will be hosting the post run fun. Chuck Day our Brooks rep will be in store to let you test run the new Brooks Transcend and Glycerin. Brooks and Dick Pond will be raffling off a free pair of shoes. It's a great chance to relax with your fellow runners.

Come and take advantage of our large selection of spikes, accessories, and training shoes while YOU EARN 5% BACK for your team. In addition, we will continue to offer you outstanding prices and our Runners Rewards program with which you receive $15 for every $200 spent at our 5 retail locations. Just make sure you identify your school at the checkout. Coaches, the best way to earn "TEAM BUCKS" is to email or call us to schedule a special "TEAM NIGHT" at one of our retail locations. Fun Run Information

"FUN RUN WEDNESDAY"
Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm.
Come join us for a mid-week run. The group runs around 40-45 minutes and runners of all level are welcome. We typically run for around 4 miles plus depending on the group. Some of the group will run longer if they happen to be training for something and want to get the miles in, others will run less depending on what they feel like doing that day.
No sign up is required just come a few minutes early to fill out a participants form if you haven't filled out one before. This is a FREE program. Call Debbie at 630-665-3316 or email debbie@dickpondathletics for more information.

"FUN RUN SATURDAY"
Saturday mornings at 8:30 am rain, snow, sleet or shine.
Join Dick Pond Athletics for "DOUBLE THE FUN". Run with us on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm and join us again on Saturday mornings at 8:30 am for another "Fun Run". Runners of all levels welcome. We run for around 3-4 miles plus depending on the group. Many of the people are Walk 2 Run graduates. Some of the group will run/walk for 30-40 minutes instead of running the whole time. Anything goes, everyone does the distance they want to do.

Walk to Run Information


UPCOMING WALK TO RUN PROGRAM DATES
We have regular runs on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Saturday morning runs are as follows:
Monday evening runs are as follows: Each session will end with an optional 5K graduation race. The race for session 1 will be the Just Run 5K on May 17th in Carol Stream. The race for session 2 will be the Bob Leonard 5K Run/Walk on Saturday August 9th in St. Charles. The race for sesson 3 will be the Dick Pond Athletics Hot Coca 5K Run/Walk in Wheaton.

Our series of three 10 week sessions that start with mostly walking and a little running and end with an optional 5K will start up again in March. After each session we will complete the optional 5K then the next session will start within the next week or two, Many of our participants either repeat the sessions or go on to join our "Fun Run" group that meets both on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm and Saturday mornings at 8:30 am. The Saturday morning group runs all year long rain, sleet or snow and the Wednesday night group runs well into Fall and Winter weather permitting. "WALK N TALK"
SATURDAY MORNING AT 8:30 AM WALK N TALK WITH OUR WALK 2 RUN GROUP HAS ENDED FOR 2013 BUT WILL START UP AGAIN IN MARCH
In addition to our Walk 2 Run Program, our Marathon Training Program and our Fun Run's we now have a Walk N Talk option during our Walk 2 Run Program. It is geared for those of you that are not quite ready or may not wish to run/walk a 5K but would still enjoy and benefit from 30 minutes of cardio every saturday morning with our group. Instead of running during the run portions you will continue to walk but possibly just at a little brisker pace. It is structured just like our Walk 2 Run and we will all start together and meet back at the store when we're done. What fun! The more the merrier so bring a friend!
No sign up is required just come a few minutes early the first day to fill out a participants form if you haven't filled out one before. MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM

Our marathon program is FREE and meets every Saturday morning for a long run and on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm at Glenbard North High School for a track workout. We also have our Wednesday night Fun Run at 6:30 pm if you want to run with the group for your mid-week run. See why running with a group is so much more fun then running alone.
